The objective of the Foundation is to ensure that the Vuichard recovery technique, along with other aviation safety procedures and technical solutions, is widely disseminated and implemented on a national and international level. To achieve this, the Foundation produces educational safety videos and conducts lectures and webinars.
The President of the Foundation, Claude Vuichard, travels around the world to meet with civil aviation authorities, experts, and manufacturers to discuss and review procedures and their application.
In addition to these efforts, the Foundation also organizes full-day seminars that focus on safe autorotation techniques. These seminars include 2 hours of theory and three simulator sessions, which can be conducted regardless of weather conditions on either the R22 or H125 simulator. The topics covered in these seminars range from entry phase and glide path corrections to low speed autorotation, night operations over unlit areas, and upslope autorotation techniques. There is also an optional session on engine failure during sling load operations.
These seminars are led by Claude Vuichard himself. To further enhance operational safety, the recently established flight school “Vuichard Advanced Helicopter Training” offers full-day seminars and practical safety training in Switzerland.
This training is focused on all Vuichard techniques and can be availed for a fee. Moreover, Leocopter Air-Services, the partner of Vuichard Advanced Helicopter Training, offers these seminars and training worldwide.
Apart from seminars, the Foundation also conducts lectures on various safety relevant areas that cover all aspects of helicopter operations. For more details on seminars, lectures, special courses, and specific flight training, interested individuals can visit the website of Leocopter Air-Services.
For those who are interested in flight training sessions, the Vuichard Advanced Helicopter Training offers comprehensive training programs in Switzerland. This flight school is dedicated to preventing classical helicopter incidents and accidents and offers different levels of certificates. On a global scale, the training is also available at the location of the company or organization, using their own helicopters and flight simulators that meet the training requirements.
To support the foundation’s mission for a safer flying world, individuals can make donations. The testimonials from various individuals, including pilots and industry professionals, attest to the effectiveness and practicality of the Vuichard Safety Seminar in improving helicopter operations and preventing accidents.
